For decades, Shirley Nagel, MD, has used her internal medicine expertise to help patients achieve their long-term health goals. But she noticed that as she treated her patients’ internal needs, many were having to go elsewhere for their aesthetic needs, so she founded The Spa at Mount Dora in Mount Dora, Florida, to change that. Now, her patients can get everything they need to achieve their cosmetic and overall wellness goals in one convenient, comfortable, clean location.
Dr. Nagel started honing her ability to provide excellent care for the human body by earning her Bachelor of Science in biology at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She then continued onto Brooklyn, where she earned her Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Downstate. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Staten Island Hospital in New York.
With her medical education complete, Dr. Nagel secured her board certification in internal medicine and began three decades of offering patients top-tier internal medicine care. During that time, she served in a number of advisory roles, including acting as the chief of medicine and chief of staff at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares.
Dr. Nagel noticed, however, that some of her patients had needs that extended beyond what a doctor traditionally offers. Not content to leave her patients lacking, she undertook a fellowship in anti-aging with the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
This has equipped her to offer patients a range of aesthetic services. Those include body sculpting, vaginal revitalization, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and more. Today, Dr. Nagel offers her patients kind, customized care for all of their aesthetic needs at The Spa at Mount Dora.
